Time for a new chapter in creativity.
This week, I made the decision to jump off of Meta socials after finding Bluesky. Bluesky is not Instagram, but that’s okay. I’m looking forward to the change and the challenge of finding a new way to express myself.
As a creative, I appreciated the ability to create image posts on Instagram. I also enjoyed my connecting to local creatives on the platform. However, I struggled with being able to express myself beyond the images I was posting. It was also starting to be a challenge juggling the different accounts on Instagram for the different parts of my life (i.e. design, politics, AI imagery).
After the election, both frustrated and angry, I needed a change. At the same time I joined Bluesky, many progressives and artists were jumping the “X” sinking ship. It was an ex-Xers convention, metaphorically hi-fiving each other. It was a good time to make the move. I also decided to mash everything together in one profile, on Instagram and Bluesky, incorporating all the parts of me.
I’m hoping I’ll be able to extend my thoughts beyond a single Bluesky and Instagram post with this blog site. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my creative expression.
Come visit me on Bluesky.
